Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is where the jawbone is built up to accommodate a dental implant or other restorative device. Bone grafting is a common procedure that is used frequently for dental implants and other periodontal procedures.

Bone grafts can consist of cadaver tissue, bovine tissue or can be taken form a donor site in another area of your mouth. There are also new types of bone grafts that are made of calcium hydroxyapatite, which builds a framework for your bone to grown into.

Bone grafts can take up to 6 months to develop into proficient bone.
